STEVE DOES TUTORIAL FOR RED
GIANT'S PARTICULAR
Steve
has been retained by Red Giant to create an online tutorial for
their latest release of Trapcode Particular now made for Nuke.
Particular is an extremely robust particle system with realistic
natural effects, lighting control for shaded particles, 3D camera
integration, custom shapes, depth of field, and physics controls
such as air resistance, gravity and turbulence. Particular has
been used in motion pictures like Spider
Man 3 and Angels & Demons. Look

"The Indian
Exodus" Op-Ed Piece
There
is much concern in the VFX industry about our jobs being outsourced
to India, and even China. Indeed, India is rapidly booting up a
visual effects industry and has a vast pool of low cost artists
to staff it with. Since I have been to India five times to conduct
VFX training (the most recent being a two-month visit to two different
facilities) I am often asked about the “lay of the land” there.
